APPCIOS MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
APPCIOS is a Charity (Reg. No. 1167755).
APPCIOS is governed by a Board of Trustees, who oversee the finances and operational management of the Association.

Our Trustees: Bob Hinshelwood (Chair); Roger Banks, John Diamond, Tony Harms (Secretary and Safeguarding Officer), Vikram Luthra, Janet Strivens, Judith Trowell, Stephen Vaudrey (Treasurer).
The trustees meet three times a year. The Chair of Trustees and the CEO meet every month. Trustees are appointed by the Chair and the existing trustees, in discussion with the CEO and Deputy CEO and the Management Committee.
The CEO is appointed by the Trustees.
The CEO appoints the Deputy, in consultation with the Trustees and the Management Committee.

The trustees, CEO and Deputy CEO appoint the Chairs of the Ethics Committee and of the Professional Standards Committee; the Chairs recruit members to the Committees in consultation with the CEO, Deputy CEO and the trustees.

The Ethics Committee meets once a month or whenever necessary.
The Professional Standards Committee: Janet Strivens (Chair); Harriet Calvert; Phil Faulkner; Emma Higgs; James Mosse; Jenny Sprince.
The CEO and Deputy appoint the Chair of the Management Committee in consultation with the Management Committee.

The Chair of the Management Committee recruits members to the Management Committee in consultation with the Management Committee, CEO and Deputy CEO.

The members of the Management Committee undertake management of the following functions:
Trudy Darien: Admissions Mentoring; Membership Support.
This includes the co-ordination of mentoring; annual CPD returns; oversight of subscription invoicing. Tina Bool acts as Registrar and Administrator.
Aly Thompson: Websites; Webinars; Social Media.
This includes the collating and editing of our biannual Newsletter and the co-ordination of our CPD Webinar and Discussion Group calendars.
Phil Faulkner: Partnerships, Affiliation and Course Accreditation.
This involves the accreditation of foundational trainings within external organisations. It does not include the accreditation of CPD webinars that are eligible for inclusion with BPC-accredited training portfolios: these are accredited and/or commissioned by the relevant Steering Committees.
Mark Waddington: Development of Online Therapeutic Services.
We are currently developing these services through the PPT Training and through an independent Affiliated Organisation, Placement Support. We have also recruited a Therapeutic Services Steering Committee with the support of our Trustees. This is a new venture and still in development.
The Management Committee meets fortnightly to review the running of each department, ensure the smooth running of the organisation, and discuss future planning and strategies. Any problems within the organisation are discussed within the Management Committee.
The Chair attends the Steering Committees of both BPC-accredited trainings and reports back to the Management Committee on any problems that may arise.

Our trainings are run by independent Steering Committees overseen by our Trustees, our CEO and Deputy, and the Chair of our Management Committee.
Psychodynamic Organisational Therapy (POT) Steering Committee: Janine Cherry-Swaine; Trudy Darien; Emma Higgs; Andrea White.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Training (PPT) Steering Committee: Emma Higgs; Deborah Marks; Ariel Nathanson; Sandra Nathanson; Liz Omand; Jenny Sprince; Judith Trowell (Chair).
Steering Committees meet monthly, recruit and commission supervisors and webinars; review the progress of trainees and discuss any problems that may arise.
Independent Assessors’ Panel: Convenor Andrew Briggs.
The Convenor of the Assessors’ Panel appoints from a pool of senior BPC psychoanalytic registrants to read and assess the portfolio submissions of trainees.
The pool of assessors is selected in consultation with the CEO, Deputy CEO and the trustees.
Steering Committee Online Therapeutic Services: Roger Banks; Ariel Nathanson; Mark Waddington.
This Steering Committee is tasked with developing our Online Services in consultation with the Trustees.
Quality Assurance Committee: Phil Faulkner, Emma Higgs, Jenny Sprince.
This Committee reviews applications for Partnership and Affiliation from External Organisations; ensures ongoing liaison with affiliates and partners; and supports them in developing and maintaining standards.
