This is a portfolio training, taught through five webinar modules of varying lengths. The first three modules will be available from April 2026.
1). A ten-week once-weekly webinar course in organisational observation with Andrew Briggs. These webinars will commence in the Spring Term, but the timings are still to be confirmed. The cost is £325 per person.
This ten-week course offers a rich opportunity to think psychoanalytically about organisational life and to reflect on our own experiences within the systems we inhabit. It aims to deepen the understanding of participants in the unconscious processes governing organisations and professional networks.
2). A four-week once-weekly webinar course in the psychodynamics of race and ethnicity, led by Trudy Darien and Devika Dhar. These webinars are held over four consecutive Saturday mornings, from 9.30am to 11.00am, starting on 20th June 2026. The cost is £120 per person.
This course takes as its starting point the fact that we all belong to ethnic groups, and that regardless of our racial origins we have all been shaped by our experiences of racial and ethnic identity. Using statistical information to generate discussion, Trudy and Devika invite the group to approach this subject from an experiential and exploratory position, facilitating thought and discussion about the feeling and experience of ethnicity, race, racism and othering in our personal and working lives, and relating this to psychodynamic theory.
3). A one-year once-weekly webinar course in role consultancy and therapeutic supervision with Emma Higgs and Jenny Sprince. This course will start on Thursday 16th April 2026 from 4.00 to 5.15pm. The cost will be £320 per person per term.
Role consultancy/therapeutic supervision is a specialist methodology that adds another dimension to traditional consultation/supervision: it takes into account the internal world of the supervisee, and explores the emotional impact on them of their work with their clients and their staff, as well as exploring the dynamics of their teams and of the organisation in which their work takes place.
Participation in these three webinars will enhance your capacity to provide leadership within an organisation through an understanding of internal, external and societal dynamics. Participants will be invited to submit portfolios for qualification as BPC-registered psychodynamic organisational therapists.
Two further advanced modules will be available from September:
1) A one-year weekly reading group in organisational theory - timings to be confirmed. Costs will be roughly equivalent to those already quoted.
2) A one-year work discussion group covering the practise of consultancy and the facilitation of reflective groups - timings to be confirmed. Costs will be roughly equivalent to those already quoted.
Completion of all five modules leads to qualification with APPCIOS as an accredited APPCIOS Organisational Consultant.
