New groups and events:
- The BCA’s Annual Summer Conference
The Psychodynamic Thinking Site will be hosting the Birkbeck Counselling Association’s Summer Conference on 25th July - and it will be open to all members of the Site. The speakers are two longstanding members of APPCIOS - Trudy Darien and Mark Waddington - and the Panel Discussion with be chaired by Laurence Spurling. There is a charge for attending. - Fathers in Lockdown
Andrew Briggs is particularly interested in thinking about the position of fathers during this difficult time. He is planning a first discussion meeting on this topic for Tuesday July 14th at 7.30pm. If you would like to participate please email us here.
- APPCIOS Theory Webinars
Fiona Henderson and Jan McHugh will be running a series of reading groups on psychoanalytic theory. You can find out more here.
Ongoing groups that you’re welcome to join:
- Weekend Psychosymposium
We hold a Psychodynamic Symposium every weekend where members of this Site can meet for live discussions around papers, articles, books, films and poems. Or just to talk.
This is an open group, and you won’t need to commit to regular attendance. We alternate meetings between Saturdays and Sundays.

- Understanding Race from a Psychodynamic Perspective
Trudy Darien and Devika Dhar are starting a new series of discussion groups on Wednesdays at 6.00pm. You can find out more here. Everyone is welcome.
This group meets on alternate Thursdays at 5.30pm to explore the transition to screen communication and its impact, both socially and professionally. If you would like to join, send us an email here.
